About IZN Tools
103 small browser tools — image, SEO, developer, calculators and generators — each doing one job, each running on your device. Made and maintained by one person.
What this site is
A catalogue of 103 tools that do one thing each: compress an image, format JSON, calculate a loan, generate a username a platform will accept. Every tool has its own page with the tool at the top and, below it, an explanation of what it does, where it goes wrong, and the questions people actually ask.
The tools are the point, not the text. The text exists so that someone who arrived from a search engine with a specific problem can check the answer is right before trusting it.
Who makes it
IZN Tools is built and run by Igor Zagorodnyi, an independent developer. It started as the set of utilities he kept needing while building other sites, rewritten so they worked without uploading anything, and grew from there. It is one of a family of small sites by the same author, all free, listed on the projects page.
There is no team, no content farm and no automated article generation. When a tool is wrong, one person fixes it; when a page says something, that person checked it.
How the tools work
Everything runs in your browser. Images are decoded and re-encoded by your own graphics stack, text is processed by your browser's JavaScript engine, random values come from your operating system. Nothing you put into a tool is uploaded, which is why the tools keep working with the network switched off and why there is no file size queue.
The trade-off is that a browser tab will not process a 500 MB dump. Inputs are capped rather than allowed to freeze the page.
How it is funded
The site is free to use and carries advertising. An account is optional and removes the daily limit for anonymous use; there is no paid tier at present. Ads and analytics load only after you allow them from the cookie banner, and the tools behave identically either way.
