The rules, taken from the signup form
Roblox's help pages describe how to change a username but no longer list the character rules. The signup form does — it checks each of these live as you type, and they are exactly what this page generates against:
| Rule | Roblox | | --- | --- | | 3 to 20 characters | yes | | Latin letters and digits | yes | | At most one underscore | yes | | Underscore not at either end | yes | | No spaces or other characters | yes | | Unique across Roblox | yes |
Capitals are kept. IronWolf and ironwolf are different accounts on
Roblox, and the capitalised form is how game names are actually written.
Username and display name
- Username — the account. Unique, used to log in, and changing it costs Robux each time. This is the one with rules and what this page makes.
- Display name — shown in experiences and on the profile. Free to change once every seven days, need not be unique, and can be anything within the community standards.
Pick the username carefully, since changing it is not free. The display name you can play with.
Why these names sound like game names
This page draws from the same bank as the game nickname generator: words that mean something — storm, wraith, iron, blade — rather than the calm handles you would want for a messenger. Russian words are transliterated so the result is still Latin.

No account, no request, nothing recorded. Nothing you generate here leaves your browser.
Questions
What are Roblox's username rules?+
Three to twenty characters, Latin letters and digits, at most one underscore, and that underscore not at the beginning or end. No spaces. These are the checks Roblox's own signup form runs before it even asks whether the name is taken, and everything here is generated against them.
Why does it stop at 20 characters?+
Because Roblox does. A long two-word name in transliterated Russian often runs past twenty, so this page draws again rather than cut a word in half — you will never see a name with the last letters chopped off.
Username or display name?+
The username is the account itself: unique, used to log in, and changing it costs Robux. The display name is free, changes once a week, need not be unique, and is what shows in experiences. This page generates the username, which is the one with rules; a display name can be anything within the community standards.
Are these names free?+
No generator can tell you. Roblox has hundreds of millions of accounts and every short obvious name went years ago. Generate a batch, then try them on the signup form — Roblox checks availability as you type.
Can I use Cyrillic?+
Not in a username: Latin only. Russian words are transliterated here — Ярость becomes Yarost. Display names are gradually gaining other scripts, but that is a separate field.
